Use A Tightly Closed Container
Camphor gradually enters the air through sublimation. A jar or pouch that closes well slows this loss and helps keep the aroma contained. Close the pack immediately after taking out the small quantity needed for a ritual.
Choose A Cool, Dry Location
Keep camphor away from direct sunlight, hot shelves, cooking appliances and damp areas. Heat can speed vapour loss, while moisture can affect dried flowers, spices and paper labels. A shaded cupboard is generally more suitable than a bathroom or sunny windowsill.
Keep It Away From Flames
The storage container should never sit beside the active burner, candles, matches or another heat source. Camphor is flammable. Remove only what you need, close the container and return it to its safe storage place before lighting the burner.
Reduce Unnecessary Handling
Use clean, dry hands or a clean spoon when taking out botanical camphor. Avoid transferring it repeatedly between decorative open bowls. Open display looks attractive but allows aroma to escape and creates easier access for children or pets.
Store Refills Responsibly
A refill pouch should remain sealed until required. After opening, press out excess air without crushing the botanicals and close the zip seal fully. If you transfer the refill into a jar, make sure the jar is completely dry and clearly labelled.
Watch Natural Botanicals
Dried flowers and spices can vary in colour and size. Discard a product if moisture, an unfamiliar growth, contamination or serious packaging damage is visible. Normal sublimation is different: camphor pieces may simply become smaller over time.
Make Safety The Default
Store all camphor products out of reach of children and pets. Do not keep them in food containers or beside edible spices, and never ingest the product. Good storage preserves the intended ritual while reducing waste and accidental exposure.
